The Texas Real Estate Exam is administered by the Texas Real Estate Commission for prospective salespersons, brokers, and real estate inspectors applying for licenses. All salespersons, brokers, and real estate inspectors must pass the state administered exam in order to qualify for a license in Texas.In Texas, real estate students must complete a certain number of classroom hours before taking the state exam. Salespersons must complete 150 hours of core real estate courses in addition to 60 hours in other real estate related topics. Brokers must complete 270 classroom hours and 630 additional real estate classroom hours.Testing locations are available across the state: Abilene, Amarillo, Arlington, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Harlingen, Houston, Lubbock, McAllen, Midland, Richardson, San Antonio, Tyler, Waco. Before a candidate can register to take their Texas Real Estate Exam, they must complete 180 hours of pre-licensing education. What Should You Expect On The Day Of Your Test
On the day of the exam, candidates should report to the test center thirty minutes before the examination and check in with the test center administrator. The candidateâs identification and other documentation is reviewed and they are photographed for the score report.
Licensee candidates are required to review and sign a Candidate Rules Agreement form. Candidates will then take a tutorial on their exam computer. The examination begins the moment a candidate looks at the first examination question. Candidates will be given four hours to take both the State and National portions of the exam. Each Candidate will leave the test center with their official scores in hand.
