Hopefully, you have a nursing specialty in mind that you want to pursue. It is a great idea to look at what institutions offer new graduate nursing programs in your area and their hiring specialties. These programs have dedicated training programs designed for novice nurses. Your education does not stop after you pass the NCLEX and start practicing. Nurses are constantly learning new skills and technologies every shift. It is essential to dive into your specialty and strive to be an expert nurse in your field.

Many nurses achieve this by earning certifications in their specialty. In THIS STUDY by the NCSBN it was found that the average student takes the NCLEX® just 35 days after graduating from nursing school.

They also noted that there is an inverse correlation between time from graduation and pass rates.

In other words . . . the longer you wait the less likely you will be to pass.

What does this mean to you? Use your time in nursing school to prepare for the monster . . . study throughout the journey. Once you graduate get your ATT and take the beast as soon as you can.

    Introducing: Npq Nclex Practice Questions

One of the best ways to gain confidence is to see yourself succeeding.

And one of the best ways you can insure success on the NCLEX is to take a TON of NCLEX practice questions . . . and I mean a ton. Like up to 100 a day in the weeks leading up to the test.

Prior to taking the NCLEX myself, I took literally thousands of practice questions. In the final two weeks before the exam, I was taking upwards of 200+ questions per day.

This is why, at NURSING.com, we built one of the largest NCLEX Question Banks on the planet with over 6,000+ questions on over 21 different categories. You need to take a TON of questions. But here is what you need to do:

    • Take 100+ questions
    • Read the rationales for each question you got wrong
    • Review the content around those questions you got wrong
    • Begin to focus your question taking on subjects YOU GOT WRONG

So often, future nurses take questions on subjects they are strong in it boosts their confidence but the NCLEX doesnt want to know your strongest areas it wants to know if you will be a safe nurse regardless of what specialty you work in.

To help you with this we have released our massive database of practice questions for you to practice.

Its called Nursing Practice Questions feel free to give it a try.

NPQ is the largest database of practice NCLEX questions online and built by our team of NCSBN-trained NCLEX question writers.

How Will Ngn Impact Nursing Curriculum

Nursing school curriculums are expected to change slightly as schools scramble to prepare students for the NGN. However, the NCSBN does not believe it will be necessary for nursing schools to fully change their curriculum. It is only necessary to continue to teach clinical judgment effectively to prepare new graduates for the examination and their clinical position after licensure.

Each nursing college must meet accreditation standards, but there is some flexibility in how concepts are taught. The NCLEX is the last standard a new nursing degree graduate must meet before being licensed to practice by the state board of nursing.

While somewhat similar, the NCSBN clinical judgment measurement model does not replace the nursing process. It is an evidence-based framework that tests nursing graduates.

The NCSBN hopes the NCJMM helps nursing educators evaluate clinical judgment in the classroom. It can also be used to develop teaching methods associated with decision-making and critical thinking to bolster clinical judgment.

Are There Any Breaks During The Nclex

There are two scheduled breaks during the NCLEX exam that are optional. The first break is after the first two hours of testing, and the second break is after three-and-a-half hours of testing.

A few things to know about your scheduled breaks:

    • The clock doesnt stop. Both breaks count against your overall testing time of five hours.
    • All candidates choosing to take their scheduled break must leave the testing room.
    • Any personal item you access during your break may be inspected by the test administrator .
    • You will be required to provide a palm vein scan both before your break and after your break.

If you need to take an unscheduled break for any reason during your exam, raise your hand and request a break from the TA. But remember, the clock doesnt stop for scheduled or unscheduled breaks.

Some test candidates decide not to take their scheduled breaks because they are worried about their time allotment. When making this decision, keep in mind the effect testing fatigue can have as you move through the exam. Breaks can be a good way to relax, refresh, and regroup in order to perform your best on the items still to come.
