Supplement Your Study Materials With At Least One Other Resource
Use 1-2 additional study resources. At Agents of Change, we highly recommend taking the ASWB official practice test and, if more practice questions are desired, purchasing the Apgar Book.
While study materials from various sources may contain similar information, you may find that some areas are given more prominence as an example, the Code of Ethics may be more highly emphasized than assessment methods, as an example.
This is why it is so vital to use different resources as you are studying.
Review Videos And Test
Whether you use Agents of Change or another program, watch every course video and read all of the materials twice. As you read the written materials and watch the videos, take detailed notes and practice active reading strategies.
If you order your study materials through Agents of Change, youll have over 30 topics of content and hundreds of practice questions.

What Should I Bring With Me On Test Day
All you need to bring is two forms of ID, at least one of which is a current, government-issued photo ID. The test is computer-administered so everything else you need will be provided for you. You cannot bring any personal items into the exam room with you so its best to just leave your things in your car.
You will have about four hours to complete all four sections of the test. But you should also plan to arrive about 15-30 minutes early in order to check in so expect to be at the testing center for about four and a half hours altogether.
As mentioned earlier, the test includes 170 questions but only 150 of those questions are scored. The remaining 20 are unscored questions being tested for possible inclusion on future versions of the exam. You wont know which ones are the unscored questions, however, so you should be ready to do your best on all 170 questions.

Take A Mock Test At Least Once
By taking a mock test, you will be able to improve your ASWB exam readiness. The Agents of Change program includes a full-length exam and we recommend pairing this with the ASWB official practice test.
As you take either practice test, you may realize that you are not as strong or confident in specific areas of the ASWB exam.
Once you have highlighted these areas, study them again. Take notes so you retain the material you are studying.
Take a second mock test. Compare your second score with your first score. Has it improved or is it similar to your first score? If it hasnt gone up, review those weak areas again, take notes and watch the related videos again.
While there is some repetition involved in this process, it will help you feel more confident on test day! Your career and ability to earn your social work license both depend on understanding the material in the real test.

Read And Review The Social Work Code Of Ethics At Least Twice
The NASW Code of Ethics is one of the most important documents you need to know for the exam. It details the ethics that social workers should consider in situations they may encounter throughout their careers.
Reviewing this document a minimum of two times will allow you to remember each ethical area, not only for your exam but also for your social work practice. Taking notes as you review the Code will also help you to internalize these values.
When you are actively practicing social work, you may also find it easier to fall back on the Code in different professional situations.

What Is The Minimum Score Needed To Pass
The score is scaled according to the difficulty of the questions that you receive which depends on the version of the exam you are taking. Because of this variability, the minimum number of correct answers you need could be as little as 93 or as much as 107.
Since you have no control over which version of the exam you will receive, it is best to set your target above 107 and create a study plan around that goal. This will increase your chances of achieving the minimum passing score no matter which version of the test you take.
Fortunately, your exam results are valid across all states and territories so you wont have to take the exam again if you choose to work in a different state.
