How Do I Get My License

Life Insurance License Exam Notes Pt. 1

Step 1: Complete a prelicensing course that has been approved by the Department of Insurance. Once you have completed your course, ExamFX will issue a certificate of completion which you may download and print from your online ExamFX account.

Step 2: Apply for your license. Florida resident applicants must use the online application service called MyProfile, accessible here.

Be aware that the state of Florida requires fingerprinting. Candidates must be fingerprinted through IdentoGO by Idemia. You can register, find locations, and pay for fingerprinting by visiting www.L1enrollment.com/FLinsurance. After payment is made, you must submit your fingerprints electronically via LiveScan. Step 3: Schedule your exam with your states testing provider, Pearson VUE. The fastest way to schedule your exam is to do so online at Pearson VUE. You can also schedule your exam over the phone at 274-2020. Your exam may be taken at a physical Pearson Vue examination center or via a remote online proctored exam. Exam fees must be paid at the time of reservation.

    What Score Is Needed To Pass The Florida Insurance Exam

    All Florida Insurance exams are multiple choice and require a 70% score to pass. All exams are administered on a computer at the testing center. You will be provided with a dry erase sheet of paper and an erasable marker to make notes.

    The 2-15 Florida Health & Life Agent License exam is 165 questions. 150 questions are scored, while 15 questions are “pretest” or unscored questions. You must get 105 questions correct to pass.

    The 2-14 Florida Life Agent License exam is 100 questions. 85 questions are scored, while 15 questions are “pretest” or unscored questions. You must get 60 questions correct to pass.

    The 2-40 Florida Health Agent License exam is 100 questions. 85 questions are scored, while 15 questions are “pretest” or unscored questions. You must get 60 questions correct to pass.

    While the day of the test will vary by state, there are some similarities. Youll need to present a photo ID, most likely a government-issued one.
